Corona Era (1985-present) Fender Reissues

The Corona, Ca plant opened its doors in the very last months of 1985.  Production started off very slow at the new factory with only a handful of guitars being produced per day during the initial months.  These early Corona era reissue are very high quality instruments, and like their older Fullerton era cousins have fantastic build quality.  When the new factory opened there was still an excess of parts left over from the Fullerton, Ca factory that were used in production.  For these reason the very first Corona era reissues had the same body contours as Fullerton era reissues.  Likewise, left over pots, pickups, and capacitors were also still used on the first reissues to come out of the Corona, Ca factory.

2009 Fender American Vintage '57 Stratocaster.  The Fender American Vintage '57 Stratocaster Electric Guitar meticulously re-creates a famous design. It's true to all the original specs and detailing, including neck and headstock shapes, body contours - even the original hand-beveled pickup magnets. Comes fitted with American Vintage pickups, the original synchronized tremolo (with ashtray included), nickel silver frets, and other vintage appointments. Maple fretboard. Includes tweed hardshell case.

2009 Fender American Vintage '62 Stratocaster.  The classic Fender American Vintage '62 Stratocaster Electric Guitar updates the '57 Strat with a fresh look and faster action. It has all the vintage features of the '57 (alder body, maple neck, vintage pickups), plus a rosewood fretboard and a slimmer, quicker neck shape that allowed surf-era rockers to push the envelope. The Fender American Vintage '62 Strat comes with the original tremolo with ashtray cover and authentic 3-way switching, but includes the parts to upgrade to 5-way.

1986 Fender '57 American Vintage Reissue Stratocaster finished in Candy Apple Red.  This guitar was made at the Corona, Ca plant but somehow got out of the factory with an earlier neckplate.  Usually the very first Corona plant guitars started around the V017000 mark.  They must have had a few old neckplates laying around that they used on the first guitars to come out of the Corona plant.  Neckdate of 6-17-86.

1986 Fender '62 American Vintage Reissue Stratocaster finished in Black.  This is one of the very first reissues to come out of the Corona, Ca factory.  This guitar features custom color black.  Super clean guitar that sounds amazing.

1986 Fender '57 American Vintage Reissue Stratocaster finished in 2-sunburst.  Comes with original manual and tweed case!  Neckplate of V021024, neck date of 11-13-86, and pot codes of R1378634, denoting they were made the 34th week of 1986.  This guitar is in near mint condition.  If you have been holding out for an early reissue strat, then this one is for you.

1986 Fender '57 American Vintage Reissue Stratocaster finished in custom color Vintage White.  Rare custom color!  Neckdate of 12-5-86. Pots stamped R1378634, denoting they were made the 34th week of 1986.

1986 Fender '62 American Vintage Reissue Stratocaster finished in Candy Apple Red.  Great example of an early custom color Corona era reissue.  Neckdate 11-26-86.  Super clean guitar!

1986 Fender '62 American Vintage Reissue Stratocaster finished in Lake Placid Blue.  Near mint condition.  Neckdate of 12-10-86.  Great color!

1988 Fender '57 Reissue Stratocaster finished in custom color Black.  Comes with original tweed case.  Neckplate of V026145, neck date of 6-2-88, and pot codes of R1378835, denoting they were made the 35th week of 1988.  This guitar is in great shape.  The original thin nitro finish looks amazing.  There is no finish checking in the nitro finish!  There is one very small ding in the finish near the input jack.  There is also a small area at the neck pocket that chipped off when the neck was removed.  This black finish looks amazing!

1988 Fender '57 American Vintage Reissue Stratocaster.  This strat is finish in extremely rare Fiesta Red!  These early Fiesta Red reissue strats are very hard to come by.  We have only had a few of these come through The Fender Reissue Shop.  This one is 100% original and in great shape.  There is some finish checking and a few small dings in the finish.  This is one great looking guitar!  Serial number stamped on neckplate is V026847.  Neckdate of 1-25-88.  Pots are stamped R1378726, denoting they were made the 26th week of 1987.  This gui

1988 Fender '57 American Vintage Reissue Stratocaster finished in rare Fiesta Red.  Includes original tweed case and manual.  Fiesta Red is an extremely rare color for these early reissues.  Neckdate of 1-25-88.  Sharp guitar!

1988 Fender '62 American Vintage Reissue Stratocaster finished in Black.  This guitar has one of the very first nedates that were stamped on the neck butt.  Neckdate of Sep 23 1988 stamped in black ink.  Very clean guitar!
